30 Days of Thanks- Days 24 & 25


Today I am Thankful for 

Maintaining Thankfulness

Philippians 4:7-8

New International Version (NIV)
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.



Last night I bundled ( it was 32 degrees) my son and I up and headed to church. We had a guest speaker, and WOW ! His sermon was amazing and spoke right to me. His message was on how to maintain thankfulness throughout the year. He stated, that many of us slip away from the mindset of thankfulness and complaints begin to creep out of our mouths once again. He pointed out that this is not a mouth problem but instead a heart problem. For, what comes out of our mouths is what we feel within our heart. Our hearts may be filled with hurts, regrets,wrath, and revenge. Which leaves no room for thankfulness,hopefulness, gratefulness, etc in our heart. If we focus on the negatives we are only giving  those thoughts power to turn into reaction in our life. However, if we mediate on the true, noble,pure, and righteous thoughts then those positive thoughts will fill our heart and in turn fill our mouths with Thanksgiving.  As Philippians 4:7-8 we must safeguard our hearts with Jesus !  


The pastor stated that we should mediate on positive things and not fixate on things that we can not control.  Give God the reigns of the situation and have faith that he will come on the scene. 

After these 30 days of Thanks I am going to continue to maintain my Thankfulness. For God is worthy of Thanks each day that I am alive.  The Devil wants us to gripe and complain about our situations, but God is bigger than any situation that we face !

30 Days of Thanks- Day 12


Today I am Thankful for 

Extended Family

Family like branches on a tree we all grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one

Today is the 12th day and 12 reminds me of Family. There are 12 grandchildren in my family and 3 great-grands. I am thankful that I have a big family because it is also an fun experience spending time together. I love meals at my grandmother's house. I love the kids playing in the yard. I love laughing together.  I love my son's eyes lighting up talking about his  family members. I love family being there when no one else is. Cousins, Uncles, Grandparents, Aunts, Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, and Brothers. I am thankful for our extended family.

                     1 Chronicles 16:34


 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; 
his love endures forever.

30 Days of Thanks


Day 2

On the 2nd day of November, I am thankful for:


  My Son



The greatest gift a child. I am thankful for his smile and ability to make me laugh. I am thankful that he is healthy, smart, and kind. I am thankful that he keeps me on my toes. I am thankful for his hugs, high fives, and cove ( love). I am thankful that each day he allows me to see the world in new perspective. I am truly thankful for my Son.

30 Days of Thanks


Day 1

November is here..it has sprung up quickly. What does November mean to you? For many of us it is a time to be thankful. Amidst a hectic life I have to remind myself to be thankful for the same things that sometimes can bring a headache. I am sure you have heard this before but when we have a laundry basket full of clothes we should be thankful for the people who make the clothes dirty.


I have seen the “ 30 days of Thanks” on various people’s facebook page in previous years and decided to do it this year myself. It can never hurt to remind ourselves daily of the small and big things we should be thankful for.

On the 1st day of November, I am thankful for :

  Progress & 
Thankfulness of God's Perfect Plan



Today is  the beginning of my Husband’s 5th month of Residency. It is also his 1st switch to Pediatrics! (He is an Internal Medicine/Pediatric Resident and will receive training in both fields. He spent his 1st 4 months on Internal Med, will spend 4 months on Ped,etc)

Time is really flying by for us. Taking this journey in small chucks and celebrating them as well helps us in our climb.


Psalms 100:4- Enter into his gates with thanksgivingand into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.


I know that without God's guidance we would not have such favor. I praise him for allowing us to be in a program that allows my husband to learn as well as is a fit for our family and life.
